Step 3/Level 3: Daily Schedule

In keeping our programs small we are able to focus on each student’s progress throughout the program.

No lectures, all higher order thinking tactile-classroom learning style. 

Our days are divided into three main components:

  1.  Morning Pharm drill.
  2. ★System Based Supplemental Instruction® (SBSI) replaces the traditional lecture style of reviewing the Clinical Sciences. Here students analyze and explore complex and fundamental high- yield topics. During this time we review Surgery, GI, Rheumatoid, OB/Gyn, Renal, Endocrine, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Pulmonary, Neurology, Heme/Oncology, Psychiatry, and Biostats. 
  3. Question group: here we assess how each student integrates information into the questions and if they are able to note the distractors in the questions and use critical thinking when answering board-style questions. We work on timing, critical thinking, and processing during these sessions too. 


★System Based Supplemental Instruction® (SBSI)

Supplemental Instruction has proven results in:

  • enabling students to increase long-term retention
  • develop strategies for understanding and comprehending the material
  • develop strategies for grasping more challenging areas of study
  • allows the student, together with the SI Instructor, to pinpoint areas where the student still needs assistance in understanding the material
  • enables students to master course content while they develop and integrate effective learning and study strategies


The difference between the 3-week and 5-week programs:

Our traditional 5-week program incorporates more review of content and the application and integration of knowledge into the questions. A lot of homework is scheduled for when class lets out. (Subject to change). 

Our 3-week program only reviews knowledge as it pertains to the questions we do in class, no supplemental review is offered. This program is designed for students who have a stronger knowledge base and are needing a better approach to questions to increase their scores. Students report higher score increases within the first week, even in their weaker areas. Less homework is scheduled than the 5-week program. (Subject to change). 

 When Class Lets Out

Class is dismissed at 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Instructors are available for one on one sessions (we do not cap sessions) between 2:30 and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Detailed schedule and guidance on how to spend out of class time are provided. 


Second and third Saturdays are scheduled with 9 hour Mock Boards (8 blocks). 

Second and third Sundays students are required to review their Mock Board questions and prepare for their individual post-mock board session with the instructor on Mondays.

To accomplish the full benefit of our program students are required to attend all sessions and complete homework daily.
